Fishing and Hunting and Vacationing in Northwestern Wisconsin

Paddleing
                                                The Waters of Northwest Wisconsin

If you want to get away from it all and enjoy some great paddling through stretches of remote river, Northwest Wisconsin awaits you. Along with famous, well known riverways like the Chippewa, the Flambeau, and the St.Croix and Namekogan, there are countless miles of other rivers and streams that can offer some great paddling and in some areas, like within the 860,000 acre Chequamegon National Forest, you can really get away for a few days. In the Chequamegon Forest they allow what they call "disbursed" camping, in other words, camping is allowed, with some restrictions, anywhere within the forest, not just at designated campgrounds. This opens up lots of possibilities for canoe trips of various lengths, over night or several days in the wild.

Here are a few places you can find more info on outfitters and the rivers.
